Tripod Hunt

After the domination of Earth, the illusive Invaders in their Tripedal Machines began seeking out the weak, helpless survivors that were not obliterated in the Tripod's wreak of havok inducing destruction.
Small pockets of the wounded and terrified took to the country in hopes of evading the enemy infested cities, only to run into a hunting ground. Those poor souls that were discovered met a fate worse than death. With the Tripods came the perculular Red Weed that spread across miles of landscape. Within a few hours, farming fields were turned into oceans of writhing animal-like tendrals.
Few would have taken note of the Machines that made it their duty to care and maintain the alien plant-life. Some witnessed the Machines spraying the earth with a red substance of a horrifying implication.
